Point of Care Ultrasound
The Program are one of the few facilities if not the first to incorporate POCUS as part of the curriculum of the program. Its goal is to enhance the residents’ knowledge and skills in understanding the basics of ultrasound (US), performing bedside US and applying the results of their examinations to ensure the proper diagnosis and treatment of those patients under the supervision of the attendings. Utilization of US has become a vital part in doing procedures at bedside. All residents who have passed the POCUS rotation and has maintained their skills throughout their residency will be declared certified by the program upon graduation.
