This busy service provides experience in both inpatient and outpatient non-invasive cardiology care. Pathology includes cardiomyopathies, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias and Ml. Teaching in interpretation of EKGs, perfusion studies and cardiac ECHOs are provided. An optional 4 week rotation at Bellevue hospital in Manhattan under the auspices of NYU is available during residency and focuses on CCU care and invasive cardiology.

Most Sirajum Munira MD, FACC, FASE, FASNC
Chief of Cardiology
Dr. Munira received her medical degree from Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh, and trained in Internal Medicine at NYC H+H/South Brooklyn, where she also subsequently served as Chief Medical Resident. She then completed a postgraduate fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Maimonides Medical Center, NYC. She is an ABIM diplomate and Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular disease, Echocardiogram, and Nuclear Cardiology, and she is also certified in vascular imaging. She has also achieved certification in Cardiac CT imaging from Johns Hopkins Hospital, Maryland. After graduation, she took a position as an attending physician in the Division of Cardiology at NYC H & H /Lincoln. She was very involved in teaching and mentoring the medical residents. She held the academic title of Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University in 2018. She received an Award of Excellence in Academic Teaching from NYC H+H/Lincoln in 2020 and from NYC H+H H/Queens in 2025. She became Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai in 2023 and was a key educator in the medical residency program at Queens Hospital Center. Dr. Munira is a media personality in the Bengali community in NYC, a regular health advisor, and attends a health awareness program on Television in NYC. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Munira has authored numerous abstracts and articles published in peer-reviewed international journals. She is a Cardiology Editorial Board Member of two international journals. In September 2025, Dr.Munira joined the Department of Medicine at NYC H+H/Lincoln as the Chief of the Division of Cardiology.
