Rheumatology:

The Section of Rheumatology is dedicated to excellence in the clinical care of patients and the education of medical students and Internal Medicine residents. The creation of sub-specialty clinics, with an emphasis in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Seronegative spondyloarthropathies, allows for in-depth learning and a comprehensive educational experience.

Through its 6 weekly clinics, the section delivers personalized expert care so that patients benefit from the most recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. The section is in close collaboration with all related musculoskeletal principals at the hospital, including orthopedic surgery, physical and occupational rehabilitation services, neurosciences and diagnostic/interventional radiology. The section has a wide base of referrals within the NY Metropolitan area.

The Section is also committed to involvement in clinical research and playing a part in the development of new knowledge and novel treatments in the field of immune mediated inflammatory disorders.
