  • Location

    The internal medicine residency program is located in the heart of the South Bronx, just steps from the famous Yankee Stadium and the Historic Grand Concourse. The hospital campus is just a short and safe five minute walk to the 149 th street metro station with access to the 2, 4 and 5 trains. Times Square can be reached in less than 15 minutes by train and both major airports are accessible by car and public transportation in less than 30 minutes. Due to its central location, our residents have an ability to find many housing locations including the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and even Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut.

    The surrounding area offers a plethora of activities and culture to enjoy in your free time. The very popular Central Park of Manhattan, offers visitors acres of greenery. Dozens of museums that house some of the most priceless pieces of art in the world. For sports fans, there is access to 9 professional sports teams.

    Dear Residency Candidate,

    On behalf of the faculty and residents of the Lincoln Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College. I would like to welcome you to our website. You are now entering an important phase in your professional training and we are eager to help you to learn more about our program.

    My vision is to train physicians to have excellent clinical skills and judgment to provide outstanding patient care and become comfortable in independently managing a wide range of complex pathologies. We have dedicated faculty which devote their time to advancing our resident’s education and careers. Our diverse resident body provides insight from health systems around the world which enhances their learning from each other and the outstanding medical students who train here from St. George’s University.

    Our intent is to teach high quality evidence based medicine in an exciting, challenging and compassionate manner to prepare our residents for their career in medicine and the real world after residency.

  • Salary and Benefits

    The residents enjoy support from the Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR), a resident supported organization that acts as an advocate for all residents in a variety of departments including salary and benefits to housing. CIR has recently renegotiated a new collective bargaining agreement with the City of New York which offers residents of Lincoln Medical Center fair compensation for their efforts.
